Description: When refugees arrive in the united states, they need to apply for documents required for employment purposes. This is where you are needed. Refugees need assistance in completing applications for social security cards and state IDs. Your responsibility as a volunteer is to transport them to the Social Security Office and DVM Office and help them complete the proper forms to obtain these documents. Requirements:Potential volunteers must pass a background screen. Volunteers must also provide a valid driver's license and proof of insurance for a DMV check. This position asks volunteers to agree to a 2-3 hour commitment depending on the size of each specific case. Qualified volunteers are also asked to be available weekdays on a one-time, occasional, weekly, or monthly basis.An information session will be held every first Thursday of each month to provide more information about the opportunities offered working with the community services program and will provide time to complete application documents to become a volunteer.
